Sanctuary Sky Suites on Sun Princess
SO Grade – Deck: 16 Aft (4 cabins)
Average Size: 1262 sq. ft.
Cabins: 16616, 16617, 16618, 16619
There are only 4 of these Suites on board Sun Princess, all located at the Aft on Deck 16. The Sanctuary Sky Suites are the largest, most premium staterooms on Sun Princess and each can accommodate up to five guests.
The Sanctuary Sky Suite’s exceptional features include two bedrooms:
The Master bedroom has a Princess Luxury bed, spacious closet and vanity/desk opens and the Master bedroom opens out on to the expansive balcony. There is also a private master bathroom with bathtub, separate rain shower, luxury bathroom amenities, upgraded bathrobes and slippers, and portable hairdryer.
The Second bedroom (interior) has a Princess Luxury bed (which can be configured either as a queen or pair of twin beds) a spacious closet and vanity/desk, which leads to a shower room with luxury bathroom amenities.

Grand Suites on Sun Princess
S2 Grade – Deck 10, Mid-Forward (4 Cabins) & Deck: 16, Aft (6 Cabins)
Average Size: 636 sq. ft.
Cabins: 10224, 10225, 10230, 10231
Cabins: 16605, 16606, 16611, 16612, 16614, 16615
There are a total of 10 Grand Suites on board Sun Princess. They are split between two locations on ship (Mid-Forward and Aft). The Grand Suites are the next largest suites after the Sanctuary Sky Suites. The layout is shown below.
If you a prefer mid-forward location, then there are 4 cabins on Deck 10. The great thing about these cabins on Deck 10 is that you won’t feel as much movement as the Grand Suites on Deck 16, if the ship is sailing in rough as they are lower down on the ship.
Escape with Ant and Glen make some beautifully edited and narrated videos and they filmed a tour of their Grand Suite which is definitely worth a watch – give them a sub over on YouTube too.
The Grand Suites on Deck 10 are also in a better location for the ‘forward’ attractions on ship such as the Dome, and Lido Deck, The Seaview Terrace, The Casino, and the Princess Arena. However, the mid forward, location also means these deck 10 cabins are far from the Sanctuary Restaurant (Deck 8, Aft) – which is exclusive for Sanctuary Suite guests along with other exclusive areas for Sanctuary Suite guests such as the Signature Lounge and Sanctuary Club – both at the aft – will be a slightly further walk away.
If you prefer an aft location, then the Grand Suites on Deck 16 will provide slightly better balcony views as you are much higher up. However, the downside with this is that you might experience more movement in these cabins if the ship is sailing in rough seas. However, these Grand suites will have excellent access to the Signature lounge (via an entrance/lift at the aft on Deck 16) and the Sanctuary Club on Deck 18, Aft.
There is one Accessible Grand Suite on Sun Princess (cabin 16614).

Vista Suites on Sun Princess
S4 Grade Vista Suites – Deck: 15 Aft (16 Cabins), Deck: 16 Aft (2 cabins) & Deck: 17 Aft (18 Cabins)
Average Size: 446 sq. ft.
Deck 15 Cabins: 15609, 15610, 15614, 15615, 15616, 15619, 15622, 15623, 15624, 15627, 15630, 15631, 15634, 15635, 15638, 15639
Deck 16 Cabins: 16620, 16621
Deck 17 Cabins: 17605, 17606, 17609, 17610, 17614, 17615, 17618, 17619, 17620, 17621, 17626, 17627, 17628, 17629, 17634, 17635, 17636, 17637
The Vista Suites are the most numerous S-Grade Suite grade on board with 36 cabins spread over three decks. These suites have a similar layout the Grand Suites, but with a smaller footprint. (See layout below).
The main differences between this grade of suite (S4) and the next grade up (The Grand Suites, S2-Grade) is that there is no seating area in the bedroom part of the suite and while these is a similar amount of storage, there is no walk-in closet. The vanity area in the Vista Suites also seems to be half the size of that in the Grand Suite.
All located at the aft, the Vista Suites are in a perfect position for the Sanctuary Club (Deck 18, Aft) The Sanctuary Restaurant (Deck 8, Aft) and the Signature Lounge (Decks 15 & 16, Aft). However, as these suites are all located high up on deck and at the aft, you might find some more movement in rough seas in these locations.
Want to take a quick look around one of these Vista Suites on Sun Princess? Well, The Travel Scouts Unplugged have a great Vista Suite Tour over on their Channel too. Check it out here.
There are two Accessible Vista Suites (Cabins 16620 & 16621), both located on Deck 16 and with easy access of the Signature Lounge lift (which is almost right outside the cabin doors) to which also takes you up to the Sanctuary Club on Deck 18, Aft.
One thing to consider is that if you prefer a quieter location, then I would opt for the Vista Suites on Deck 16 or 15 as the Vista Suites on Deck 17 will be immediately below the The Sanctuary Club, so you may find the occasional sound on the deck above from footsteps and sunlounges a distraction.
Signature Suites on Sun Princess
S9 Grade Suites – Deck: 11, Midship (6 Cabins), Deck: 14 Aft (16 Cabins), Deck: 15 Aft (4 Cabins), Deck: 16 Aft (4 Cabins)
Average Size: 304 sq. ft.
Deck 11 Cabins: 11447, 11449, 11451, 11453, 11456, 11458
Deck 14 Cabins: 14622, 14623, 14624, 14625, 14626, 14627, 14628, 14629, 14630, 14631, 14632, 14633, 14634, 14635, 14638, 14639
Deck 15 Cabins: 15605, 15606, 15607, 15608
Deck 16 Cabins: 16607, 16608, 16609, 16610
So let’s talk layouts: There are two different layouts to the S9 Grade Signature Suites, Layout A and Layout B (see below).
I don’t seem to see any superiority for one layout over the other, so it will be more down to personal preference as to which layout is most appealing to you (bed nearest the Bathroom or Closet nearest the bathroom). From the deck plan, I’ve listed which S9 Grade Signature Suites have Layout A and which have Layout B (if you have a particular preference for booking a specific layout). See below
The main differences between this grade of Signature suite (S9) and the next grade up (The S4 Grade Vista Suites) is that there is no bathtub in the S9 Signature Suites and the footprint of these suites is narrower and about half the width of the S4 Vista Suite with a combined desk/vanity area and no hard partition between the bedroom and seating areas.
In fact, the layout of these S9 Signature Suites is identical to the Reserve Collection Mini Suites (M1, M2, MD Grades). It’s just that these Sanctuary Collection S9 Grade suites come with access to exclusive areas and additional perks.
The S9 Grade Signature Suites are the second most numerous of the S-Grade suites on Sun Princess with 30 Cabins spread across 4 decks and two locations (Midship and Aft). Most of these S9 Grade suites are located on Deck 14. The S9 Grade suites are the least expensive S-Grade suites on Sun Princess.
There are two Accessible S9 Grade Signature Suites on Sun Princess – Cabins: 11447 & 11449
If you want to stay in an S9 Grade Signature Suite with a bit more stability in rough seas, then I’d opt for the midship S9 Suites on Deck 11. You’re also centrally located too, so most things are very accessible. In fact, both the Accessible S9 Signature suites are located here on Deck 11. However the midship suites ahve a slightly longer walk than other Signature Suites to The Sanctuary Restaurant (Deck 8, Aft).
All the other S9 Grade Signature suites are located at the aft and while these may be more prone to movement in rough seas, these cabins are very close by the Sanctuary Club and Signature Lounge (direct access to the Signature Lounge is available from Deck 16 – access from Deck 14 cabins is via a lift at the aft) and the Sanctuary Restaurant (a few decks down on Deck 8, Aft).

What is the Sanctuary Club on Sun Princess?
Sanctuary Collection Suite guests not only enjoy premium stateroom amenities, but also have this private area of The Sanctuary Club. An adult-only space, with probably the highest and best views of the wake on the ship, this exclusive area comes with a Serenity Steward to get Signature Collection guests whatever they need. Escape with Ant and Glen have a great overview of the Sanctuary Club and Perks too
