P&O Cruises now has 5-berth Cabins. For too long despite being a family friendly cruise line, P&O Cruises could only accommodate up to 4 guests in each cabin – this presented a dilemma for families of 5 – resort to booking 2 cabins or try to be first to book one of the four 6-berth BE suites across the whole fleet (2 each on Azura and Ventura). Both options came at a significant expense for multi-generational groups. But that has now changed as P&O Cruises now offers 5-berth cabins on three of its ships. In this post I’ll share all you need to know about these ‘new’ 5-berth cabins.

Typical 5 Berth Layout in the new cabin configuration – Britannia

From summer 2026, there will be a total of 50 new five-berth options across Arvia, Iona and Britannia. The cabins are being ‘upgraded’ from existing Conservatory Mini Suites on Arvia and Iona, and The Superior Deluxe Balconies on Britannia.

Arvia – 15 Conservatory Mini-suites
Iona – 23 Conservatory Mini-suites
Britannia – 12 Superior Deluxe Balcony cabins

See deck plans below for more details on specific cabins

All these cabins will come online ready for the busy 2026 summer school holiday season, making it easier for families of 5 to share one cabin rather than having opt for a more expensive workaround. It’s also great (cheaper) options for a group of adults who want to share together rather than get multiple cabins. All cabins are available to book now. Five-berth cabins are available across Select Price, Early Saver and Saver fares.

Another great thing is that the cost of the 5th guest will be no higher than 3rd and 4th guest rates in the same cabin, so this is where the money saving aspect really comes into force. Look out for the occasional deals P&O Cruises runs on discounted 3rd and 4th guests sometimes to get even more savings.

What are the Cabin Types and Layouts for the 5-Berth Cabins on P&O Cruises?

On Britannia, these are Superior Deluxe Balcony grade cabins.
On Arvia and Iona, the 5 berth cabins will be Conservatory Mini-suite grade cabins.

In each cabin there will be:

🛏️ One fixed double bed
🛏️ A double sofa bed (folded away during the day)
🛏️ One pull-down single bed (folded away during the day)

There will also be

A Lounge area with coffee table and chairs
A Desk and additional television
All other aspects of the structure and cabin storage will remain the same.

Important things to consider before booking these cabins:

  • Infants from six months old can travel on most itineraries (but some exceptions apply where extended sea days are involved – so it’s best to check whether this affects your sailing when booking)
  • While Arvia and Iona can accommodate a cot as the fifth berth, Britannia can’t so if you’re travelling with an infant and need a cot – it is better to book on Arvia or Iona.
  • If booking for 5 adults, while there isn’t a weight restriction the pull-down bed, the ladder for the pull-down berth has a limit of 130kg (approximately 20 stone).
  • If you need an accessible cabin, Arvia and Iona don’t have five-berth cabins accessible cabins, but Britannia has two accessible cabins that can accommodate five people.
  • As these cabins will be in high demand, it’s best to get bookings soon as possible when new itineraries are released.
  • If the cabin is fully occupied with 5 guests, then you won’t be offered the option to upgrade.
  • All the perks of a conservatory mini suite remain the same – priority boarding, a pillow menu, champagne, chocolates, bathrobes and luxury toiletries.
  • On Arvia and Iona, some of these Conservatory mini suite 5-berth cabins are also adjoining 3-berth cabins – making it even easier for larger family groups to travel together

6 Berth Suites on Azura and Ventura

A little more about these four 6-berth Suites on Azura and Ventura – On previous deck plans these were clearly stated as 6 berth, but the new deck plans refer to them as having two bedrooms but don’t state the number of passengers which can be accommodated. It just states that there are two bedrooms.

6 berth suites on Azura: D105, D106
6 berth suites on Ventura: D105, D106

BE Suites: D105 and D106 are large Suites consisting of two bedrooms, two bathrooms with bath and shower, a lounge and a large balcony. These Suites are suitable for sharing couples or families.

I’ve been able to find a few videos here, here and here on the suites in Ventura which were posted last year. and also this one on Azura – They clearly show 6 beds – one double bed (possibly fixed?) two upper berths and two lower berths.
