It’s all about Pickleball on the Danube! AmaWaterways’ flagship vessel, AmaMagna, is the first river cruise ship to offer a full sized pickleball court meaning guests of all ages can grab a paddle and serve up an ace while cruising the Danube.

The pickle ball court is located on AmaMagna’s sundeck and available to guests free of charge for the duration of their cruise.

What is Pickleball?

For those not already in the know, Pickleball combines elements of tennis, ping pong and badminton. It’s the fastest growing sport in the US, (The Clooneys, Kardashians and Leonardo de Caprio are all fans) and now its popularity is growing in the UK too.

It’s not the first time that AmaWaterways has embraced the newest trends in wellness and active travel.

The company was the first to offer a fleet of bicycles on-board its ships for customer use. It was also the first to employ ‘wellness hosts’ who arrange guided hiking and biking excursions as well as offering a range of classes such as Pilates, cardio and stretching.

For those who need a little encouragement there is even a ‘champagne yoga’ class available on selected sailings – (now that’s an exercise class I can definitely sign up to!)
