Cabin Types on board Queen Anne

Queen Anne, Cunard’s newest ship has 1,397 cabins (also known as staterooms) which can accommodate up to 2,996 guests. There are a lot of options available on this stunning new Queen.

Guest accommodation is located on Decks 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11. (There are no guest cabins on ship which are below the water line!).

Overall, there are 4 main types of cabins on Queen Anne and within each type of cabin there are several categories.
Cabin Type (Categories)
Suites (Queens Grill, Princess Grill)
Balcony Cabins (Club Balcony, Balcony, Obstructed View Balcony)
cean View Cabins (Deluxe Oceanview, Oceanview)
Inside Cabins (Standard Inside)
Cabin Type (Categories)

In this guide, I will give a detailed breakdown on each cabin type separately, starting with Inside Cabins, then Oceanview cabins and finally Balcony Cabins. If you want more information on suites, then check out my separate guide Suites on Queen Anne.

Some categories have multiple grades of cabin – different grades denote where the staterooms are located on the ship. Lower (and cheaper) grades in each category are usually right at the front, right at the back, right at the top or right at the bottom of the ship.

Best solo cabins on Queen Anne

I hate to break it to you – there are no solo cabins on Queen Anne. Make of that what you will.
Solos will therefore unfortunately have to pay for double occupancy rates.

So, the only solutions are to find a good friend to travel with or book the cheapest inside cabin.

Inside Cabins (Staterooms) on Queen Anne

What different grades of inside cabin are there on Queen Anne?

Inside cabins (staterooms) are well-appointed, budget-friendly ways to get on board and offer a haven of comfort and style.

There are two different layouts of inside cabins. It might make a difference for you, so I’ve made a list (below) so you can see which is which.

Hopefully this will make sense in the illustration below – but it all comes down to where the door is in the cabin. For cabin 7051 the door is on the ‘short edge’ of the cabin while on cabin 6017, the door is on the ‘short ‘long edge’ of the cabin.

If the your cabin number isn’t on this list above, then it will have the door on the ‘short edge’. Paul and Carol Love to Travel have uploaded some useful videos which give you a tour of both configurations.

  • Inside cabins directly below the buffet (Inside Cabins 8108 – 8120)

Inside cabins next to laundrettes on Queen Anne

There are a cluster of cabins near to the laundrettes on decks 4, 7, & 8. While this might be super convenient to get some washing done on board, (and a perfect chance to eavesdrop on the juicy gossip which gets exchanged here!) you might find these cabins a little more noisy than other inside cabins as there’ll be more passengers coming and going throughout the day.

You might want to avoid booking cabins 4155, 7157, 8110, 10038, 10043 and to a certain extent 10039 which are directly next to the laundrettes.

Connecting inside cabins on Queen Anne

There are only two connecting inside cabins on Queen Anne. These are: 7111 (which is also wheelchair accessible) & 7117.

Inside cabins to avoid if you suffer from motion sickness

These will be the inside cabins furthest forward and further to the aft. These cabins are all in Grades IF, and IE.

Cabins in IE grade on Decks 11 and 10 are likely to feel the movement the most as they are higher up and right at the front of the ship.

Oceanview Cabins (Staterooms) on Queen Anne

Positioned to offer sea views, Queen Anne’s Oceanview staterooms provide a private enclave from which to watch the world go by. They are a great cost effective option if you need a sea view, without having to stretch the budget to a balcony.

There are two grades of Oceanview Cabins – Standard Oceanview cabins (Grades, EB, EC EE & EF) and Deluxe Oceanview cabins (Grade EA) .

It’s worth noting that in Deluxe Oceanview Cabins, the 3rd and 4th berth is a double sofa bed, not two singles. However, you can ask for the main beds to be set up as twins instead of a double if you need two single beds in this cabin. These cabins also have an additional shower room.

3-Berth Oceanview cabins on Queen Anne

  • Oceanview cabins: 1041, 1044, 1045, 1048, 1081, 1082, 1083, 1086, 1087, 1092, 1109, 1110, 1111, 1112, 1003, 1006, 1011, 1012, 1016, 1017, 1028, 1029, 1032, 1033,

4-Berth Ocean View Cabins on Queen Anne

These are also known as the deluxe ocean view cabins and are all EA grade. There are no 4-berth standard Oceanview cabins.

  • These Deluxe Oceanview cabins are: 1120 – 1141

These Deluxe Oceanview cabins are really great options for families- the are in a quiet part of the ship, low down so, less susceptible to movement, have additional bathroom space (great if you have teenagers!), are a cost effective option over a 4-berth balcony and are lose to the lifts and great for getting the cases off on disembarkation day.

Then only downsides is that they are a little far from a lot of bars and restaurants on board as well as the Kids Club ‘The Zone’ and they might be a little noisy or experience some vibrations when berthing in ports. I think I would choose a cabin on the starboard side as these cabins seem to be below the Gallery on Deck 2 rather than the Crew area.

The forward-facing cabins on Decks 9, 10 & 11 (EE and EF grades) also look slightly bigger.

Forward facing Oceanview cabins on Queen Anne

These cabins all sleep 2 people and are located much higher up on the ship right at the front. If you suffer for motion sickness, they might not be the best option.

If you value your own private outdoor space when on board ship, then a balcony stateroom could be the best choice for you. Queen Anne has a range of balcony cabin types: Club Balcony cabins, Standard Balcony Cabins and Obstructed view Balcony Cabins.

These are A1 and A2 grade Cabins on board Queen Anne. Club Balcony cabins come with a few additional perks such as a smaller, more intimate dining room, prime sea views in a central location, speciality tea and coffee-making facilities in the cabin, complimentary spring water replenished throughout your voyage and priority embarkation and disembarkation. Britannia Club Balconies are more expensive than Standard Balcony Staterooms.

Britannia Club Balcony Cabins are located mainly on decks 5 & 7 plus there are two cabins on deck 7 (7132 & 7173) and two forward-facing Britannia Club Balcony Cabins (with an alternative layout); cabins 6001 & 6002. These last two staterooms have metal fronted balconies.
