The new initiative means any guest booking a twelve-day cruise along the Norwegian coast (Bergen-Kirkenes-Bergen) will be eligible for a free six- or seven-night voyage, if the natural phenomenon doesn’t appear during their trip.

Havila’s coastal cruise ships sail away from the light pollution on land making them the ideal place from which to spot the Northern Lights flickering over the Arctic skies. Passengers can stay warm while they watch the skies dance by jumping into the on-board jacuzzi or by heading indoors to the lounge, where a glass roof and reclining chairs make for uninterrupted views of the Arctic sky.

The ‘Northern Lights Promise’ is valid for all departures from 1 October to 31 March and the replacement trip (if needed), will take place the following winter.

Best Served Scandinavia currently offer the Round trip (Bergen/Kirkenes/Bergen) inclusive of:

  • Return flights London to Bergen
  • Return airport shuttle transfers in Bergen
  • 2 nights (1 pre & 1 post) at the Thon Hotel Orion
  • 11 nights on board Havila Voyages in an interior cabin on a full board basis

Havila’s ships have been designed to be the most environmentally friendly vessels to operate along the Norwegian coastal route and feature the World’s largest battery packs on a passenger ship. This allows them to sail through fjords and other vulnerable areas for up to four hours – quietly and emission free
