What Is the Limelight Club on P&O Cruises?
The Limelight Club is a live music and performance venue found on several P&O Cruises ships, including Britannia, Iona and Arvia. Unlike the main theatre, which hosts large-scale productions, the Limelight Club focuses on smaller, more intimate shows featuring live bands, solo artists, comedians and tribute acts. I found the atmosphere is relaxed, and fun and really enjoyed the entertainment with food and drink in a cabaret-style / supper club setting.

For many guests (included myself) who have visited on previous cruises, the answer is yes. From my experience, the Limelight Club offers high-quality entertainment in a cosy, sociable environment, with the added bonus of food served to your table. If you enjoy live music and do not mind paying a small supplement, it can be one of the highlights your cruise. We particularly enjoyed seeing La Voix on Iona and Arvia and also Gareth Gates on Britannia )where we also spotted Sophie Ellis-Bextor in the audience).
The Limelight Club is particularly well suited to couples looking for a relaxed evening out, music lovers who prefer live performances, if you enjoy smaller venues and a laid-back vibe and if you want an alternative to large the theatre productions if you’re on a longer cruise. The Limelight Club adds an extra layer of variety to P&O Cruises’ already varied entertainment offering.
Top Tips for the Limelight Club on P&O Cruises
Here are my tops tips to get the most out of your visit to the Limelight Club
🌟Tables are not reserved so it is ‘first come first seated’ but you are seated by staff in order of arrival instead of it being a mad dash and a free for all. The doors open at 6.30pm.
🌟Get in the queue early if you want a good chance of getting a table near the front. On peak season cruises people have been known to queue up to an hour before the doors open to get table by the stage.
🌟Book as soon as you can. Limelight Club is a relatively small venue on all the ships, and spaces often sell out quickly, particularly on sea days and during popular cruises or with popular acts. as cheaper before sailing and sells out fast if it is a popular act.
🌟After the paid for performance – stick around when the doors open for other guests (as you already have a table) and watch the Limelighters band which are also fantastic – this usually starts at 10:30 pm
🌟Book before you sail as this is cheaper than booking on board.
